Sham Habteselasse (she/her) is a doctoral student in the Developmental Psychology program at The Graduate Center, CUNY. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research interests explore emotion development in social support systems. Specifically, Sham is interested in examining how adolescents and emerging adults of color engage in expressing their emotions and seeking advisement within friendship groups. She also works as a research assistant at Child Trends, a research nonprofit focused on evaluating and advancing child and family serving programs. She will serve as a participant-observer, primarily in the CUNY Peer Leaders Program and HASTAC Scholars.
