Description
Join us at the Graduate Center on Wednesday, March 2 from 1-2pm in room C197 for an open, livestreamed workshop on metrics, assessment, equity, and finding ways to measure what we really value. We will be joined by Anya Kamenetz, author of The Test and lead digital education reporter for NPR; Leah Gilliam, VP of Strategy and Innovation for Girls Who Code and former director of Mozilla’s Hive NYC Learning Network, and representatives from LaGuardia Community College who will discuss holistic assessment as a way to support and encourage deep learning.

This workshop is the sixth in the The University Worth Fighting For, a series of workshops that tie student-centered, engaged pedagogical practices to institutional change, race, equality, gender, and social justice.

The workshop will be livestreamed at http://bit.ly/FuturesED-live. Copies of The Test will be available for purchase and signing following the event.

Online Discussion Group
To help build momentum and to provide a place to discuss related theory and research in greater depth, we also invite you to join this student-led reading group that will open on HASTAC. The discussion group will remain open for three weeks following the workshop.
